Police say they found the child's body, as well as a dead man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, in a Frawley Street home.

WARWICK, RI — UPDATE — Father Who Shot, Killed Son Before Shooting Himself IDed: Warwick PD.
A man fatally shot himself Thursday after shooting and killing a young child at a home in Warwick, according to police.
Around 8:24 a.m., police were called to a home on Frawley Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. Before officers arrived, police said they learned a child had been shot and the shooter was still inside the home armed with a gun.

When officers entered the home, they found the child's body, as well as a man who was also dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Warwick police have not identified the child or the man.

"While detectives continue to piece together the events leading up to this horrific crime, the members of the Warwick Police Department send our deepest condolences to the family members and those affected by this senseless and unimaginable act," Police Chief Bradford Connor said. "As a community we are saddened by the events that occurred today."
