New Photos Released Of Man Who Grabbed Teen Girl In Cranston: Police

Cranston police say the student was walking on Gansett Avenue when a man talked to her, and then grabbed her as she tried to walk away.

CRANSTON, RI — Cranston police have released new photos of a man they are looking for who they said grabbed a high school girl by the arm while she was walking.

Police said the incident happened around 7:48 a.m. Friday. The student was walking on Gansett Avenue when a man coming from the Bain Track approached her and made comments to her in Spanish, police said.

When she walked away, the man grabbed her by the arm, according to police. She broke free and reported the incident to a crossing guard. Police said the man walked between businesses across the street and ran into the neighborhood.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic man with a medium complexion, who was 5 feet, six inches to five feet, seven inches tall. According to police, he was wearing a tan jacket, blue sweatpants with white stripes on the side, and black sneakers.

Police said they have increased patrols in the area.
