Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell from Nickelodeon's "All That" will begin filming the sequel to the 1997 classic "Good Burger" on May 18.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Nineties kids who grew up watching Nickelodeon rejoice.
The sequel to "Good Burger," the film based on Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell's sketch from the comedy series "All That," has begun production in Rhode Island.
"I can’t believe it’s been a little over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger!" Thompson said. "Being part of something so many generations of people have come to love has made me so proud, and now to be back where it all began, working on the sequel is surreal! Love performing with my brother Kel and can’t wait to show the fans what these two characters have been up to since we last saw them."

The 1997 classic "Good Burger" follows teenager Reed and his cashier co-worker, Ed, who try to save their burger chain restaurant after a new burger chain restaurant opens across the street and threatens to put them out of business.
In the sequel, Reed is down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails. Ed happily welcomes Reed back to the Good Burger fast-food restaurant and gives him his old job back while working with a zany new group of employees. But trouble arises, and once again, the restaurant is at risk.
"Ed is one of those timeless characters that has brought so much joy and laughter to fans, and it’s such an amazing blessing to still be doing it after all these years," Mitchell said. "It’s super awesome to come back and continue the stories of Dex, Ed, and Good Burger for both the people who grew up watching and their kids!"
Good Burger 2 will be produced by Thompson and Mitchell. It will be penned by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert (“All That,” “Good Burger”) who will also serve as executive producers, along with John Ryan Jr. from Artists for Artists. Phil Traill (“The Middle,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Single Drunk Female”) will direct. James III (“Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan,” “All That”) has also been writing for the film.
