Remembering The Rhode Islanders Killed In Pearl Harbor Attacks
Dec. 7, 2021 marks the 80th anniversary of the attacks that claimed thousands of lives and launched the United States into World War II.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Wednesday marks eight decades since the Japanese launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, "the day which will live in infamy" that launched the United States into the Second World War.
In total, 2,403 people were killed during the attack. Several were from Rhode Island, named here to honor their memory.

Two Rhode Island men were onboard the U.S.S. Arizona when it was attacked, according to the National Parks Service.

No Rhode Islanders were listed as identified casualties of the U.S.S. Oklahoma.
