Rhode Island Has A New Assistant U.S. Attorney

Rachna Vyas joins the District of Rhode Island after handling health care and life science cases at Verill Dana, LLP.

PROVIDENCE, RI — U.S. Attorney Zachary Cunha on Monday announced the appointment and swearing-in of Rachna Vyas as an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Rhode Island.

Vyas will serve in the office’s civil division, focusing on complex, white collar cases, with a particular emphasis on health care fraud cases related to the opioid crisis.

Prior to joining the District of Rhode Island, Vyas served as an associate with Verill Dana, LLP, a law firm in Providence. She handled health care and life science cases. Prior to that, Vyas was a senior associate at Choate, Hall, & Stewart, LLP, where she specialized in government enforcement and white collar cases.

She is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of California, Berkeley, School of law.
