Rhode Island Man Invited Back To 'Survivor' After Injury Causes Exit
In the season opener, Bruce Perreault, of Warwick, dove head first into a beam during the first "Survivor" challenge and later collapsed.

WARWICK, RI — A Rhode Island man will get another chance to compete on "Survivor" after an injury causes an early exit on this season of the CBS television show.
In the season opener on Wednesday, Bruce Perreault, 46, of Warwick, dove head first into a beam during the first challenge. He continued playing, but he eventually collapsed in the middle of the competition.
Survivor's medical tam helped Perreault regain consciousness, but his pain was severe that night, forcing him to leave "Survivor."

But Perreault is going to get another chance, "Survivor" host Jeff Probst said on the first episode of his new podcast.
"In the spirit of what 'Survivor' is all about, getting up off the couch, leaving your ordinary world behind, your family, your friends, left to fend for yourself in the jungle and say yes to adventure, I don't think Bruce got his fair share of 'Survivor,'" Probst said on the podcast. "So, here's the announcement. We are officially inviting Bruce to play 'Survivor' again."
