RI Thanksgiving, Black Friday Shopping Hours 2024

RHODE ISLAND — Holiday shoppers in Rhode Island who want to start their holiday shopping on Thanksgiving will have to be content to shop primarily online, as most major retailers are required to be closed on the holiday.

But several retail chains are already offering door-buster deals and pricing, as Black Friday events are no longer limited to a single day in a retail world changed by online companies. Also, retailers became more agile during the product shortages of the COVID-19 pandemic and were careful not to overstock, thereby avoiding excess inventories to unload during the holiday shopping season.

Ace Hardware will be open on Black Friday at 7:30 a.m.

Banana Republic will open at 8 a.m. on Black Friday in select locations.

Barnes & Noble will be closed on Thanksgiving but open at 8 a.m. on Black Friday, although Black Friday hours may vary by location.

Best Buy stores are closed on Thanksgiving, with most expected to open at 6 am. On Black Friday. Some may observe different hours due to local ordinances and landlord regulations, so be sure to check with your local store to confirm hours.

Dick’s Sporting Goods will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Black Friday.

Dollar General stores will be open from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. at most locations on Black Friday.

Gap stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day and select locations open at 8 a.m. on Black Friday.

H&M stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday hours vary by location.

HomeGoods stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday.

JCPenney stores will be closed on Thanksgiving and will open at 5 a.m. on Black Friday..

Kohl’s will be closed on Thanksgiving and Black Friday hours have not yet been announced.

Lowe’s stores will be closed on Thanksgiving and open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.

Macy’s is closed on Thanksgiving Day and open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Black Friday.

Marshalls stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday.

Michaels will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday.

Nordstrom stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will open early stay open late on Black Friday, with hours varying by store.

REI will be closed on both Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.

Rite Aid stores will observe regular hours on both Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.

Target stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday

TJ Maxx stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday.

Tractor Supply stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day and will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday.

Victoria’s Secret is closed Thanksgiving Day, and select locations will open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.

Walgreens will close most of its stores on Thanksgiving Day, although most 24-hour locations will remain open to assist customers with pharmacy needs. Stores will be open for regular business hours on Black Friday.
