Christine "Tacos" Blandino will represent the Ocean State in her quest to become a "Lego Master."

WEST WARWICK, RI — A Rhode Island woman is about to put her brick building to the test on national television. Christine "Tacos" Blandino will appear on season 3 of Fox's "Lego Masters," hosted by comedian Will Arnett.
Blandino, a West Warwick native, teamed up with her friend Michelle from Houston against 22 other builders hoping to be named the next "Lego Masters."
Blandino said she met her partner on Instagram, and the two just clicked and learned to work together well. Blandino said her strengths as a builder are structure and using motion with Lego pieces, while Michelle is better with storytelling and coming up with ideas.

"Our community is very large, and we're kind of like two unicorns in the community, why I say that it is usually male dominated," Blandino said discussing how both her and Michelle are Latin American women competing on the show.
Unlike other contestants on the show, Blandino said she didn't play with Lego as a kid. She started building as a pre-school teacher and then as an engineering student when she went back to school. Now, Blandino uses Lego to teach children about engineering.

"I was lucky enough to land a job teaching with Lego," Blandino said. "I've always enjoyed getting paid to play. "I'm not very different from the kids I teach attention span wise."
Through teaching with Lego, the hobby became a passion for Blandino.
She joined the Rhode Island Lego User Group and became an active member of the state's adult Lego community. The group gets together once a month and do theme builds, shows and other events.
Through building at work, home and in the community, Blandino worked hard to prepare to compete since Season 1 began airing.
"Like any kind of series or sport, it gets harder every season," Blandino said. "The stakes are high. I can't imagine what next season will go through."
Despite the hard work, Blandino said she had a blast preparing and being a part of the show.
"I don't know how to explain it, I just really care for the people I challenged with.," Blandino said. "The show was really fun."
Season 3 of Lego Masters premieres on Fox at 9 p.m., Sept. 21.
