Rollover Crash Early Friday Sends Three To Hospital

State police say a single car was involved. It hit a tree in the median.

CRANSTON, RI—State police say three people were taken to Rhode Island Hospital after a single-car crash. The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. on I-295 in Cranston. The car, travelling south, went off the highway near Plainfield Pike (Route 14) and struck a tree in the median.

"The cause of the crash remains under investigation by members of the State Police Scituate Barracks, Forensic Services Unit and Collision Reconstruction Unit," state police said, and speed appears to have been a factor. All three were wearing seatbelts.
