Because April 15 falls on Good Friday, Tax Day was pushed to April 18 this year.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Islanders had an extra few days to file their taxes this year, thanks to April 15 falling on a holiday. That means if you aren't filing online, paper forms must be signed, sealed and delivered to the local post office before the end of the day on Monday.
To make sure taxes are filed on time, the IRS encourages taxpayers to file online. Filing online ensures quicker processing, with more customers receiving their refund within three weeks.
