Warwick Man Drunkenly Crashes Into House: Police
Police said Alexander Gutierrez, 42, struck two fences, a parked car, and a home on Elmwood Avenue in Warwick.

WARWICK, RI — A Warwick man was arrested Wednesday after police said he drunkenly crashed a van into a house.
Around 6:20 a.m., Warwick police were called to the house on Elmwood Avenue near Fifth Avenue. Police said Alexander Gutierrez, 42, was driving south before veering off the road, striking the curb, two sections of fencing, an unoccupied vehicle, and then the home's chimney.
Police said alcohol was likely a contributing factor, but the crash remains under investigation. No residents of the home were injured, according to police.

Gutierrez was charged with DUI (blood-alcohol level unknown), reckless driving, and resisting lawful arrest. Police said Gutierrez was taken to the hospital after the crash, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
