COVENTRY, RI — A water main break on Thursday has closed South Main Street from Wood Street to Route 117, according to police.

Police said South Main Street traffic is being detoured down Wood Street. There will be no access to South Main Street from Route 117, because the water main break is near the bridge.

Coventry police asked motorists to avoid the area.
