2015 Veterans Day Parade in East Greenwich Steps Off Wednesday
The town prides itself on being one of the few Rhode Island communities with a Veterans Day parade.

Not all communities in Rhode Island celebrate American veterans with a parade on Veterans Day, but East Greenwich does. And it steps off at 10 a.m. from Academy Field crisply on Veteran’s Day Nov. 11.
For 2015, The “Lone Piper” Aaron Lindo (EGHS Class of 2007) again will lead the parade. On his heels will be Color Guards from the East Greenwich Police and Fire Departments, the resplendent local militias — the Kentish Guards and the Varnum Continentals — representatives from the American Legion Post 15, Korean War Veterans Chapter 2 and the VFW Post 8018.
It’s a time to pay respect to and be entertained by the 88th Army Band, the Nightlife Marching Band and the talents of the East Greenwich High School Band. Waving to the crowds will be local Boy and Girl Scouts, countless local groups and Miss Rhode Island America Allie Curtis and Ms. Rhode Island North East States Jaclynn Barry, both of whom calls East Greenwich home.

For the first time this year, the parade is hitting the airwaves as WCTK Cat Country joins the procession for the first time.
In addition, there’s a classic and antique car show, the Blue Knights Law Enforcement motor group and local fire companies with their stunning apparatuses.
