Baby Delivered After Crash Survives

The baby, who's mother Sullynette Sanchez died after a car accident on Route 4 Friday, is in intensive care at Women & Infants.


The baby born after its mother was involved in a three-car accident on Route 4 Friday is in intensive care at Women & Infants, according to a statement from URI. Sullynette Sanchez, who worked at URI, was pronounced dead at Kent Hospital Friday.

The crash, which took place around 4 p.m. Friday just south of the Frenchtown Road (Route 403) overpass, is still under investigation by the R.I. State Police.

According to the statement from URI, Sanchez, known as Sully, graduated from URI in 2011 and worked in the unversity's admissions office.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss," the statement said.
