Cole Chess Team Captures State Tournament Win

And they came in second in the Interscholastic Chess League.

It's been another strong season for the Cole Middle School Chess Team. A couple of weeks ago, they captured the state tournament and they came in just a hair behind first place in league matches.

"The Cole Chess team has had a truly fabulous season," said Chris Perrett, who managed the team this year. "Ryan [Perrett] and Sameer [Khambhai] did a great job coaching but our winning season was a true team effort. The boys should be very proud of their season and accomplishments," she said.

In addition to the Cole team winning the middle school title at the Chess meet (team picture previously sent), Sameer won second place in the seventh and eighth grade division.
