Each Greenwich Man Admits To Possessing Child Porn

John McIntyre, 32, admitted he accessed the dark web to view child pornography two-three times a week for at least the last six years.

EAST GREENWICH, RI —An East Greenwich man admitted in federal court Tuesday he possessed videos and pictures of child pornography he got on dark web sites and forums.

John D. McIntyre, 32, pleaded guilty to possession of visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

Homeland Security and FBI investigators, along with the help of a foreign law enforcement agency, discovered McIntyre's IP address accessed a known dark web page that shares pictures and videos of child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Investigators searched McIntyre's home on March 17, 2021, and looked through several computers and hard drives in his bedroom. On McIntyre's laptop, authorities found several videos of child pornography, including videos of teen boys engaging in sex acts. More videos were later found after a deeper search.

At the time of his guilty plea, McIntyre admitted to the court he accessed the dark web to view child pornography two to three times a week for the at least the previous six years.

McIntyre is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Court Chief Judge John J. McConnell, Jr., on July 12, 2022. He faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and a lifetime of supervision after release.
