East Greenwich Community Rallies Around Student Hit By Car
As of Friday, a GoFundMe to help pay Juan Aguilar's medical expenses has raised more than $38,000.
EAST GREENWICH, RI — The community is rallying around an East Greenwich High School student who got seriously injured when he was hit by a car in the school parking lot during afternoon dismissal Monday.
Juan Aguilar is at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, recovering from his injuries, but will require several surgeries, according to his friend Nadia Devito. So, Devito created a GoFundMe page to help pay Aguilar's medical bills.
As of Friday afternoon, the community has raised more than $38,000 to help Aguilar and his family.

"Thank you everyone for outpouring support," Devito wrote on the GoFundMe page. "Aguilar family is so grateful for this wonderful community. Each and every dollar that you are donating is truly appreciated and will go towards efforts for Juan’s recovery."
