EG's First Jewish Temple, Torat Yisrael, Is Dedicated
The temple on Middle Road is the first Jewish house of worship built from the ground up in 60 years.
The congregation of Torat Yisrael is home again. Several years after deciding to move from its longtime home in Cranston, Temple Torat Yisrael's new house of worship on Middle Road in East Greenwich was dedicated Sunday afternoon.
Along with Rabbi Amy Levin and the members of the Torat Yisrael congregation, U.S. Sen. Jack Reed, town officials, members of the East Greenwich interfaith community and rabbis from around the state joined in the dedication, which concluded with the placement of the mezuzah (see video, attached) that had been at the entrance of their temple in Cranston now at the entrance of their new temple in East Greenwich.
Congratulations and mazel tov!
