First Baptist’s Annual Rummage Sale:
The Annual Rummage Sale is here – you know it, you love it!  Furniture, jewelry, toys, clothing (mens, womens, children), electronics, kitchenwares, crafty things, linens, books (LOTS of books!), so many more things. The sale continues on Saturday, but the smart shoppers know that Friday is the day to get the best selection. From 4 to 8 p.m. at the Parish Hall across from the First Baptist Church of East Greenwich on Peirce Street.

Cookbook signing at Dave’s: Iron Chef Winner Alex Guarnaschelli is signing her new Debut Cookbook Old School Comfort Food at Dave's Marketplace at East Greenwich Square, Division Street. You may purchase your books in advance and bring them back on April 12th with your receipt to be signed (all books must be purchased at Dave's). For 4 to 6 p.m.

Avenger home action: The Girls Fastpitch Softball Varsity takes on Toll Gate at 3:30 p.m. You can follow all the Avenger action at the EG Booster Club website here.

‘Animal Prints’ silent auction: “Animal Prints” are a series of portraits Rhode Island celebrities photographed alongside shelter animals from the East Greenwich Animal Protection League. They will be auctioned off at an event at Crestar Frames Friday night starting at 7 p.m. The proceeds will go directly to the league, a non-profit, no-kill shelter for homeless animals. Admission is $20 and includes light hors d'oeuvres and a complimentary champagne toast. There will also be raffle prizes, a cash bar and music by SoundScape. This year's photographers are Stacey Doyle and Brad Smith.

Bunny Hop 5K: The East Greenwich Track Club is holding its second-annual

Bunny Hop 5K and Fun Run on Saturday morning, April 13, at Goddard Park. Proceeds support the East Greenwich Track Club Summer Series, a free track-and-field event on Wednesday evenings in July for boys and girls ages 4-14. It’s a USATF-certified course and sanctioned event. First 350 people to register are guaranteed a shirt. Please visit www.egtrackclub.com for more information.

Register for the Scott Carlson/ALS 5K: The 13th Annual Scott Carlson Memorial 5K takes place in just over a week, on Saturday, April 20. All proceeds benefit Rhode Island families struggling with ALS. Registration opens at 8:30 run/walk at 10 a.m. starting at the bridge by the beach in Goddard Park. Tons of food and great family fun, including a kids fun run on the beach at 9:15. register online at www.teamals.org. The first 750 pre-registrants get great long-sleeve t-shirts as well as 4 PawSox tickets!!
