Netwalking at Scalloptown Park: Meet by the mill stone in the parking lot for 10 minutes of story time before we set out on the trail. Come hear about Nature Detectives and the Mystery of the Vanishing Scallops. We will hunt for seashells and other clues along the shore, and learn why shellfish are important to sustaining the web of life. Sponsored by Biomes. Ages 2-99. From 10 a.m. to noon.

Jam Night at the Greenwich Hotel: Come down and jam with host Brian Shovelton every Wednesday night for Jam Night at the Greenwich Hotel. You must be 21 or older. Check out the hotel’s Facebook page here. It starts at 9 p.m.

Karaoke with Leo B.: Stop by the American Legion Post 15 on Wednesdays and Sundays for Karaoke, food and drinks! It's time to release your inner Adele, Frank Sinatra or Toby Keith. From 8 p.m. to midnight Wednesdays, 7 to 11 p.m. Sundays.

Live Music on Academy Field: One of the best parts of summer in EG are the free Thursday evening concerts at Academy Field, located next to the Swift Community Center, for the Summer Concert Series sponsored by the EG Parks & Recreation Department.  Each week a different performer is featured.  This week Big Cat Blues will have the group grooving to some blues and roots.  All ages are welcome to attend.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.  In case of rain the concert will be take place in the Swift Gym.  There is no admission fee or pre-registration required.  Please leave your pets at home.  For additional information contact the office at 886-8626, etx. 1  (There is no performance next week.)

On Friday …

Children’s performance: Come on down to the HS Auditorium for the weekly children's performance series sponsored by the EG Parks & Recreation Department. Each week a different performer is featured. This week is singer/storyteller Jay Mankita. Parents must accompany their child and there is no admission fee or pre-registration required. (There is no performance next week-July 5th.) For additional information contact the office at 886-8626, ext. 1.
