Town Council meeting/Public Hearing on 2014 Budget: The Town Council meets Monday night at Swift Community Center for the public hearing on the budget proposed by Town Manager Bill Sequino March 29. To see the proposed budget and Sequino’s budget message, click here. Also on the council’s agenda is a joint meeting with the Planning Board to discuss the Comprehensive Plan. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Swift.

EG Housing Authority meeting: On the agenda is a review of the effects of federal sequestration and an update of the development at 2880 South County Trail. At 4:15 p.m. at 146 First Avenue.

Cove Commission meeting: On the agenda are mooring issues and the URI watershed watch. At Town Hall at 4:30 p.m.

Bartending for a cause: Andrew Maksymowicz will be a guest bartender at McKinley's Tuesday night from 6 to 10 p.m. All tips received during those hours go directly to his foundation, Too Much Too Soon, which promotes wellness and awareness for people who are grieving a loved one who has been sick or has died from an illness. House hearing on EGFD merger legislation: The Rhode Island House Committee on Municipal Affairs will take up the legislation before it that would abolish the East Greenwich Fire District and make way for a town fire department. 4 p.m. in Room 203 at the State House. The state Senate Finance Committee heard testimony last Wednesday.

Register now for Bunny Hop 5K: The East Greenwich Track Club is holding its second-annual Bunny Hop 5K and Fun Run on Saturday morning, April 13, at Goddard Park. Proceeds support the East Greenwich Track Club Summer Series, a free track-and-field event on Wednesday evenings in July for boys and girls ages 4-14. It’s a USATF-certified course and sanctioned event. First 350 people to register are guaranteed a shirt. Please visit www.egtrackclub.com for registration and more information.
