Spring … one day late: It turns out spring arrived yesterday morning around 7 a.m. Perhaps you’ll excuse me for not recalling that fact in time for yesterday’s Five Things column. I was snow-blind.
Used Clothing Sale: Don't miss the Westminster Unitarian Church's semi-annual used clothing sale. Good used clothes, shoes, fancy wear, and some jewelry available at rock-bottom prices. Friday hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Saturday, it’s open from 9 a.m. to noon – and the price is just $5 a bag, filled to the brim with clothing of your choice.

Teen Center: The Teen Center has provided a great place to hang out on Friday evenings for decades now. They meet at the gym at Eldredge School but you don’t have to play basketball to enjoy the camaraderie. From 6 to 8 p.m.

Clown Town! A children's day of fun and games, for ages 2 to 12, where every child wins a prize and ADMISSION IS FREE! Clowns! Games! Prizes! Face Painting! Pictures with the Easter Bunny! Cake Walk! Basket Bonanza Raffle!  . . . and so much more! Game tickets are only 50 cents each. Sponsored by the Greenwich Bay Womens Club, this 43rd annual Clown Town is sure to be the best ever, great fun for the entire family. Proceeds benefit the Wray Family of East Greenwich. At St. Luke’s Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Troop 2 breakfast fundraiser:Â Troop 2 prides itself in offering meaningful, informative and fun trips for scouts and their families! Our next trip, the American Heritage Tour, will be all that and more. To help fund this trip, the troop is having a breakfast fundraiser at Dave's Bar and Grill in Warwick. The breakfast buffet offers a made to order omelet station along with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, home fries, cereal, toast, bagels, fruit, pastries and of course coffee, tea and assorted juices!
Best Buddies fundraiser at Ruby Tuesday: The EGHS chapter of Best Buddies will be holding a fundraiser at Ruby Tuesday in EG on Saturday. Participating in the fundraiser is easy! All you have to do is print out a copy of the flier attached to this post. Go to eat at Ruby Tuesday (1050 Division Road, East Greenwich, R.I., 02818) at any time on Saturday, and present the flier to your waiter or waitress when they bring the bill. The restaurant will donate 20 percent of the cost of your order to Best Buddies!
Chocolates for a Cause: The Chocolate Delicacy is teaming up with Best Buddies of RI for the Chocolates for a Cause Benefit for March. Buy a Cause chocolate bar during the month of March, and 20% will be donated to Best Buddies. Come in and find out what Best Buddies is doing in Rhode Island, and how you can get involved.
