Five Things: Swimming With Pumpkins

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Sept. 28.

Goddard Park Farmers Market: The market has moved into fall mode, with pumpkins, squash and apples. It’s a lovely way to spend a cool late summer morning. Off Ives Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

EGHS Home Games: Today the EG Boys Soccer team plays Lincoln, JV at 3:15 p.m. and Varsity at 4:45. Tomorrow is the Homecoming game, with Avenger Football taking on Lincoln at noon. The football team is undefeated. For up-to-date info on all EGHS sports, check out the Avengers Booster Club website.

Cruise Night: Vintage cars your delight? Then the parking lot at Crestar at Union and Greene streets is where you want to be tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. In addition to a lot of very cool cars, there’s always a D.J. and Pop’s catering truck too.

Teen Center: The Teen Center has provided a great place to hang out on Friday evenings for decades now. They meet at the gym at Eldredge School but you don’t have to play basketball to enjoy the camraderie. From 6 to 8 p.m.

Swimming with Pumpkins: Jump into fall by swimming with the pumpkins at the Kent County Y on Centerville Road in Warwick. The Y will add inflatable pumpkins to the pool so that children and parents can celebrate the arrival of fall. Real pumpkins will be on hand as well for children to take home and decorate. From 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the community. Registration is required, so contact the Y and sign up today.
