Five Things: Bunny Hop! Wedding Walk!

Bunny Hop 5K: The East Greenwich Track Club is holding its second-annual Bunny Hop 5K and Fun Run on Saturday morning, April 13, at Goddard Park. Proceeds support the East Greenwich Track Club Summer Series, a free track-and-field event on Wednesday evenings in July for boys and girls ages 4-14. It’s a USATF-certified course and sanctioned event. First 350 people to register are guaranteed a shirt. Registration today starts at 8 a.m. The 1K Fun Run (for children 5 to 14) starts at 9. The Egg Hunt starts at 9:30 and the main event, the 5K starts at 10. Visit www.egtrackclub.com for more information.
5th Annual EG Wedding Walk: Main Street is the perfect place to plan your wedding. With so many wedding-related businesses here to help, you are sure to find everything you’re looking for at the Fifth Annual EG Wedding Walk. Come spend the day meeting with all the professionals, receive some giveaways, participate in a fun scavenger hunt and enter a raffle to win prizes such as a weeklong stay in Hawaii for the grand prize. Check in and registration begins at 6 Main Street (Varnum Memorial Armory). From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

First Baptist’s Annual Rummage Sale: The Annual Rummage Sale continues today.  Furniture, jewelry, toys, clothing (mens, womens, children), electronics, kitchenwares, crafty things, linens, books (LOTS of books!), so many more things. From 4 to 8 p.m. at the Parish Hall across from the First Baptist Church of East Greenwich on Peirce Street. The day-long conference for wild plant enthusiasts, gardeners, nature lovers and environmentalists will focus on developing and maintaining a healthy landscape over time, as various forces impact the landscapes’ ecosystem.
Native Plant Conference: Bill Cullina, a highly respected horticulturist specializing in native plants, is the keynote speaker. Cullina is the author of 5 books and numerous articles; and is an expert on growing and propagating wild flowers. Â He is currently executive director of the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden. The event costs $80 per person and is sponsored by R.I. Wild Plant Society & New England Wild Flower Society. At 200 Lt James Brown Rd, North Kingstown from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Register for the Scott Carlson/ALS 5K: The 13th Annual Scott Carlson Memorial 5K takes place in just over a week, on Saturday, April 20. All proceeds benefit Rhode Island families struggling with ALS. Registration opens at 8:30 run/walk at 10 a.m. starting at the bridge by the beach in Goddard Park. Tons of food and great family fun, including a kids fun run on the beach at 9:15. register online at www.teamals.org.
