Five Things: Community Supper, Town Council Meeting

CCK Community Dinner: It comes one week early, but Christ Community Kitchen takes place tonight in the dining room at St. Luke’s Church, from 5 to 6 p.m. Dinner is free to all, but donations are accepted.
Town Council meeting: The meeting will begin with a budget hearing, continuing to hear from town department heads on their individual budgets, at 6:30 p.m. It’s scheduled to follow with the regular meeting at 7 p.m. That agenda includes a number of commendations and a hearing on the transfer of the liquor license from Harbourside Lobstermania to Finn’s Harbourside. The meeting will be held in Council Chambers at Town Hall.

School Committee–Town Council joint meeting: The two panels will meet at Cole Middle School to discuss the 2014 budget.
Senate panel to vote on same sex bills: The Senate Judiciary Committee will vote on three separate same-sex marriage bills in a meeting to begin at 3 p.m. in Room 313
Cocktails for a Cure at 1149: In commemoration of Esophageal Cancer Awareness month, the Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation cordially invites you to Cocktails in Hopes of a Cure on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1149 Restaurant. This is a networking event designed to bring people together in a social atmosphere while raising awareness of esophageal cancer and supporting the Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit charity. Tickets are $25 per person. Preregisteration is encouraged, as tickets are limited. Pre-registration may be done online: http://inhopesofacure.eventbrite.com.
