Story Hour at Symposium Books: Come to Story Hour at Symposium Books! Every week we pick a new story and read it to the kids with animal crackers and fun! Favorite stories are "No Matter What" and "Jungle Explorer." Come early and help pick the story, and better yet, there is a 10 percent additional discount on everything in the store during story hour. At 11:30 a.m.
Frenchtown School Fall Festival: The Seventh Annual Frenchtown Elementary Fall Festival takes place from noon to 3 p.m. today, rain or shine. There will be lots of fun carnival games for the kids, mini golf, spin art, face painting, pumpkin painting, a cake walk and so much more! There will also be hot dogs and other refreshments available so come, have lunch at the festival and enjoy! All are welcome. $8 per child.
EGHS Home Games: The Homecoming game, with Avenger Football taking on Lincoln, takes place today at noon. The football team is undefeated. For up-to-date info on all EGHS sports, check out the Avengers Booster Club website.
1812 on Great Road: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven sites along Lincoln’s historic Great Road are hosting special tours, exhibits, and presentations with a War of 1812 focus; all sites are open free to the public. Take tours, explore the area, and discover the impact that the War of 1812 had on Great Road and how our local sites and citizens contributed to the war. Organizations participating in the event include: Blackstone Valley Historical Society; Historic New England’s 1693 Arnold House; c. 1835 Captain Wilbur Kelly House; 1870 Hannaway Blacksmith Shop; 1810 Hearthside; 1703 Saylesville Meeting House; and 1694 Valentine Whitman Jr. House.
