Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Sept. 22.

Hill Neighborhood Yard Sale: Several residents on the Hill have organized to hold yard sales on the same day – this morning! Check out homes on Eldredge, Ledge, Prospect, Rector, Somerset, Liberty, Spring St. and more! Start at one sale and make your way around the neighborhood. From 9 a.m. to noon.

Pre-moving yard sale: Bikes, a car, some furniture, household items, lawn and garden tools, sports equipment and lots of goodies. Owners relocating and do not want to move everything. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 4 Stonecarry Way.

'Celebration of Autumn' at Boesch Farm: At the Briggs-Boesch Farm (830 South Road), the East Greenwich Municipal Land Trust and Pat’s Pastured will hold a Celebration of Autumn – Service Project to highlight one of the special places in our community that is protected and open to the public. This activity is part of RI Land Trust Days, when land trusts across the state are inviting individuals and families to explore the green places “just outside your door.” From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Local children’s author at the library: Colleen Kelly Mellor will be reading her Grandpa and the Truck stories at the EG Free Library this morning. Children will be able to meet and talk with the real "Grandpa" featured in the stories. Each book contains two stories that provide interesting geographic details, information about nature, important historical events, and amazing life lessons. In addition, all demonstrate the unique lifestyle of the men and women who drive big rigs. For children 4 to 8 years old at 10 a.m. No registration required.

Avenger football: Time change! Because of concern about West Nile Virus and EEE, Varsity Football will be played at this morning 10:30 a.m.

... and a couple more for good measure:
