Five Things: National Voter Registration Day
Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Sept. 25.

National Voter Registration Day: According to the NVRD website, in 2008, 6 million Americans didn't vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn't know how to register. In 2012, they want to make sure no one is left out. Today volunteers, celebrities, and organizations from all over the country will "hit the streets" for National Voter Registration Day. This single day of coordinated field, technology and media efforts will create pervasive awareness of voter registration opportunities. If you haven’t registered to vote yet, you can do that at the E.G. Town Clerk’s office (but keep in mind the entrances from Peirce Street and the parking lot are closed during ramp reconstruction), or click here to reach the R.I. Secretary of State’s website.
Home buying seminar: Prudential Gammons Real Estate is offering a free seminar to learn the ins and outs of buying a home in today's market at Harborside Lobstermania tonight from 6 to 7:30 p.m. All attendees will receive a free credit analysis and home purchase plan. Register here.
EGHS Home Games: Girls Tennis plays Smithfield at 3:30 p.m., Girls Varsity Field Hockey plays Lincoln School at 4 p.m. and JV at 5:30 p.m.
Trivia Contest @ The Grille: Every Tuesday night, the Grille hosts a trivia contest and tonight is no exception. It’s loads of fun whether you compete with a large group or just your date. There are prizes every round, as well as a grand prize. You have to be there by 8 p.m. to enter.
Post your events on our Calendar: If you have something you’d like to see on the EG Patch calendar, upload it by clicking here and finding the “Add an Event” tab on the right. The Events Calendar is my go-to spot for the daily Five Things column. If you want to be featured in Five Things, make sure you post your items on the calendar! And, thanks!
