Fire District Senate hearing: The Senate Finance Committee hearing on the Fire District legislation is scheduled to take place Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Room 211 at the State House. In addition, the House Municipal Government Committee hearing the legislation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10. It will be at the “Rise of the House,” which is when the House session ends. This means that the hearing is usually around 4:00 or 4:30. It will be in Room 203.
The Great Books Debate – What’s Worth Reading? How do you know what's worth reading? With over 300,000 books published in 2012 just in the USA, it can be a confusing to sort out the titles that are must-reads for you, especially when it comes to the so-called classics. The Friends of East Greenwich Free Library presents The Great Books Debate – What's Worth Reading? to help you figure out what to stack on your bedside table. The discussion will be led by guest speaker Rhoda Flaxman, Ph.D. 7 p.m. at the library.

'Fame Jr.' at Cole: More than 70 children have been involved in the theatrical event of the spring! The show starts at 7 p.m Friday (and repeats at 4 p.m. on Saturday) at East Greenwich High School.
School Calendar survey: The School Department is asking parents to fill out a surveyof the school year holidays, vacations, start and end days. The results will be used when deciding on the 2014-15 school year. To complete the survey,click here. The survey will be available through Friday, April 5.

Register now for Bunny Hop 5K: The East Greenwich Track Club is holding its second-annual Bunny Hop 5K and Fun Run on Saturday morning, April 13, at Goddard Park. Proceeds support the East Greenwich Track Club Summer Series, a free track-and-field event on Wednesday evenings in July for boys and girls ages 4-14. It’s a USATF-certified course and sanctioned event. First 350 people to register are guaranteed a shirt. Please visit www.egtrackclub.com for registration and more information.
