Five Things: Town Hall Lunchtime Concert, Father’s Day Ideas
Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, June 12.

Lunchtime Concert: EG Parks & Recreation Department has started a new monthly lunchtime concert series that begins Wednesday. Vintage Rhythm & Blues Ensemble plays today on the lawn at Town Hall. All are welcome to come out and listen. Tables and chairs will be set up on the lawn so grab a sandwich from a local restaurant or deli or bring along a bag lunch.
Historic District Commission meeting: The meeting takes place at Town Hall at 6 p.m. Click here to see the agenda.
Father’s Day gift ideas: The EG Lions Club is offering a round of golf with a cart at Crestwood Country Club in Rehoboth, Mass., for $45 a person, or $180 a foursome. It’s normally $75 per person. The proceeds benefit the EG Lions Club. To purchase, contact Steven Basler at docbasler@verizon.net or 884-8919. Another idea comes from Silver Spoon Bakery, which is hosting a “Decorate for (or with) Dad” event on Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. until noon. Parents can bring their child to decorate two cupcakes as a special sweet gift for Dad! Or, bring Dad and decorate with him! We'll have fun toppers like ties, tools, sports, and more! While supplies last - $10.

Main Street “Jazz” Stroll: Thursday’s stroll is titled “Jazz on Main,” because there will be several different jazz groups playing up and down Main Street in celebration of the Stroll’s 10th anniversary. So plan to spend your Thursday evening on Main Street – you’ll be able to hear great jazz and maybe find a gift for your dad.
