Tuesday, Sept. 4

4:58 p.m. – Police cited a West Warwick woman for driving with an expired license after they received a report about someone taking pictures of houses in the Division Road area and driving away. Police found her near Shippeetown Road. She explained she was taking pictures for a company that works with banks to determine if houses in bankruptcy or foreclosure are vacant. Routine checking turned up the expired license. The car was towed from the scene.

Wednesday, Sept. 5

2:03 p.m. – A Cranston woman reported a disturbing phone message left for her son by her ex-husband, a resident of East Greenwich. She told police she wanted it documented.

Thursday, Sept. 6

12:09 a.m. – Police cited a North Kingstown man for driving a car with a suspended registration and had the car towed after the man was stopped for speeding on South County Trail. Police seized the license plates and gave the man a ride to his home.

2:26 a.m. – Police arrested Nary Mourn, 32, of Woonasquatucket Avenue in North Providence, on a warrant out of Cranston after she was pulled over for speeding on Route 4. She was taken into custody for the warrant and later transported to the ACI. Her passenger drove the car from the scene.

Friday, Sept. 7

9 a.m. – A Coventry resident told police her car was repossessed in February 2011 and she never got the license plates back. She had assumed the car dealer had turned in the plates, but recently got a renewal notice for them in the mail from the registry. When she went to the registry to explain, she was told they would continue to charge fees and taxes until the plates were turned in. She contacted the car dealer but they had no information on the plates so she was reporting them lost.

11:20 a.m. – A Crossways Road resident told police someone had broken into her house while she was gone between 8:45 and 11 a.m. She noticed the screen mesh missing from a kitchen window when she’d gone to open the window. There were other signs of forced entry at the window but nothing in the house appeared to be missing, the woman said.

1:56 p.m. – A South Pierce Road woman reported her car was missing but while police were there, her son called and said he had the car.

Saturday, Sept. 8

8:15 a.m. – The Crossways resident who reported a breaking and entering on Friday called police to say she was missing several pairs of gold earrings that had been in a jewelry box upstairs. She’d gone out Friday afternoon, returning by 7:30 p.m. and had noticed the missing earrings then. There was no sign of forced entry.

10:15 a.m. – Police had a golf cart towed after getting a report that kids were driving it the wrong way down Pierce Street. Police found the cart parked on Peirce near Montrose Street. Because it was not registered but was on a roadway, police called to have it towed. Two young men approached as the cart was being towed away saying the cart belonged to the grandmother of one of the young men. Police explained it was not legal to drive the cart on regular streets.

Sunday, Sept. 9

10:05 a.m. – An East Greenwich man complained about an unleashed dog at East Greenwich High School that jumped up on his truck, scratching the exterior. Police spoke to the dog’s owner, a West Greenwich man, who said he would be willing to pay “reasonable” damages. Police told the man to leash his dog, a black Lab, or leave the area. The man left with his dog.

11:59 a.m. – A Cranston woman reported the theft of $60 from her purse while it was in a locker at Gold’s Gym earlier that morning. She said she’d had $200 taken from her purse on Sept. 2 but hadn’t reported it because she’d left it in an unsecured locker. This time, she’d used a combination lock.

1:11 p.m. – A second Cranston woman reported the theft of $300 from her purse while it was in an unsecured locker at Gold’s Gym Sunday morning. She said she’d had $160 taken from an unsecured locker on Aug. 26 but had never reported it.

6:32 p.m. – Police arrested Seth Pernal, 20, of Oakland Beach Avenue in Warwick, for driving with a suspended license after he was stopped because police had noticed his passengers weren’t wearing selt belts. Routine checks turned up the license suspension. He was issued a summons and released. A passenger drove the car from the scene.

9:08 p.m. – Police arrested Sarah Czernicki, 26, of Reynolds Street, for driving with a suspended license after she was stopped while driving on Friendship Street at Cliff Street. She was issued a summons and released.
