Kon Asian Bistro A Hit With Projo

The reviewer takes note of the EG restaurant's extravagant interior, fancy cocktails and its Eastern take on the ever-popular calamari.

The wonder of the East Greenwich restaurant scene is again on display for the world (ok, maybe just Rhode Island!) with both the EG Restaurant Week taking place now and the review today (Sept. 20) of Kon Asian Bistro in the Providence Journal.

Projo reviewer Michael Janusonis liked what he saw and ate at Kon, probably no surprise to the many diners who crowd the restaurant nightly.

He noted right off the interior is not what you’d expect, entering as you do from CVS plaza. That big Buddha, the reflecting pool and the cool dark of the place immediately whisk you away from strip-mall-dom.

Janusonis liked the Asian take on fried calamari, exotic drinks like the Mongolian Mai Tai, and sushi and hibachi offerings (which you can get without sitting around a hibachi grill, the article pointed out).

The article also provides a price breakdown of his meal. Click here to read the review, or leave your own in the Comments section below.
