The School Committee approved the hire of Bradley Wilson as the department's new director of student services, specifically handling special education students. He had been the assistant special ed director for Warwick public schools.Â
Finding a new director of student services took ten months and included three different searches. Paula Dillon resigned as assistant superintendent last September. Her job included special education. The School Committee decided not to hire an assistant superintendent, but rather to hire a director of student services.Â
The difficulty came in finding someone with certificates in both special education and in administration, Supt. Victor Mercurio said. Wilson has both.Â
Wilson, who lives in Barrington, is married and has two children. He will begin July 1.
