She and her husband celebrated 53 years of marriage on June 20.

Carrol G. (Lewis) Plouff, 73, of Sleepy Hollow Road, died Monday, Oct. 1, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Charles H. Plouff. Mr. and Mrs. Plouff celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 20, 2012.
Born in Providence, a daughter of Clarence and Stella (Podworny) Lewis, she was employed as a bookkeeper for over 30 years. During her career Carrol's employers included Greenwich Hardware and North Kingstown Animal Hospital.
Her family is remembering her as a caring person, who had a sense of humor and who was always there for others. They easily can recall the tastes and smells of her cooking and baking. Carrol loved to shop and was a "crafty" person who enjoyed all types of needlework especially knitting and quilting.
Besides her husband she is survived by her daughters Lynn M. Greene of East Greenwich, and Lori A. Shogren of Warwick; sisters Rose Martellucci of Warwick and Stella Moitozo of Rehoboth, Mass.; grandchildren Erin and Eric Greene, and Davey and Melissa Shogren; and great granddaughter Alyson Shogren.
Her funeral service was held on Friday, October 5, 2012, at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. Burial took place at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery in North Kingstown.
Memorial donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, R.I. 02904.
