1:20 a.m. – Police noticed patrons still sitting at the bar at the End Zone Pub on Post Road. While they were watching the bar, three patrons left, then one returned to the bar to say something to those still inside. A couple minutes later, three more people left the bar. According to the dispatcher, someone from End Zone called just then to request an extension on closing time (closing time is 1 a.m. in EG). Police then entered the bar. The bartender said she was on her way out and had been using the bathroom. Police warned her the bar was in violation of the liquor law and she would be cited in the future. They denied her request for an extension.

11:41 a.m. – The manager of McDonald’s on Division Street told police a person was causing a problem with an employee. She said the man was yelling at an employee, demanding money from her and refusing to leave. He was not there by the time police arrived. The employee explained the man was her ex-boyfriend and he wanted money returned that he’d paid on her car loan. The store manager requested a No Trespass order be issued to the man. Police went to the man’s North Kingstown residence and signed the order.

2:41 p.m. – A First Avenue resident told police her boyfriend refused to leave. When police arrived, the boyfriend, of North Providence, told them the couple had been arguing. After talking to the woman, police decided no domestic violence had taken place. The man left to meet a relative at CVS who would give him a ride and plans were made for him to return in the morning to retrieve his belongings.

4:43 p.m. – Police arrested Lee Botsford, 20, of Justin Road, for using a computer for fraudulent purposes and obtaining money under false pretenses after routine checks turned up an active warrant on those charges during a traffic stop. Botsford was taken into custody, processed and held for arraignment.

Saturday, April 6

2:48 a.m. – Police noticed a car parked in the parking lot between the tennis and basketball courts on Frenchtown Road. At first, they thought it was unoccupied but upon closer inspection, they discovered two people asleep in the back seat, a 18-year-old man and an underage girl. The man, of Providence, told police he and his girlfriend had snuck out of her East Greenwich house, lost track of time and fell asleep in the back of the car. Despite the girl’s request they not tell her parents, police went to the house and her father arrived at the parking lot to take his daughter home. The Providence man turned out to have a suspended license. Police drove him to the station where he was able to get a ride home from there.

Sunday, April 7

9:18 a.m. – The owner of a truck parked at East Greenwich High School called police to report damage to the truck after an unleased dog jumped up against it. The dog belonged to a West Greenwich man who has been warned before about letting the animal run off leash at the high school. The man said his dog had jumped up on the truck because there were two other dogs inside the truck. The dog was still running free. Police issued a municipal leash ordinance violation and told the man to put his dog in his car.
