RI State Police Seize Marijuana & Hash Oil Worth $400,000
A car stop on Interstate 95 in Warwick led to one arrest and the discovery of drugs.

EAST GREENWICH, RI—A traffic stop Friday afternoon on Interstate 95 ended in one arrest and the seizure of drugs worth more than $400,000, state police said. Jiacheng Liu, age 29, of San Francisco, was allegedly speeding in Warwick near the I-295 intersection. Troopers stopped his minivan around 3 p.m. Friday. A search of the vehicle uncovered some 185 pounds of marijuana and 800 vials of hash oil.
Liu was charged with delivery/possession with intent to deliver and manufacture a controlled substance (2 counts); and manufacture/possession/delivery of greater than five kilograms of marijuana, police said.
The seized marijuana was worth $368,800, and the hash oil was worth $40,000, police said. Liu is being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston pending a district court appearance Monday.
