5 Things to Know About Today

Hot, humid; City Council meets; traveling petting farm at library; theater fun; build a terrarium.

Here are five things you should know about today in East Providence:

  1. Heat and humidity will cause an oppressive day with high temperatures in the low 90s.
  2. The East Providence City Council meets at 7:30 pm in the Council Chamber in City Hall, 145 Taunton Ave.
  3. A traveling petting farm with goats, piglets, silky hens, bunnies, and more visits the Weaver Library, 41 Grove Ave., from 2 to 3:30 pm; for all ages.
  4. And theater fun has begun at the Weaver Library with five sessions (from July 8 to August 7) meeting three mornings a week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30-12). Learn many aspects of theater work, from character development to props, scenery and make-up. Call 434-2453 for more information.
  5. Also, you can learn how to build your own terrarium at the Weaver Library from 3 to 4 pm; for ages 10 and up, call 433-4877 to register.
