City Courts Close In East Providence Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Local officials also canceled the next East Providence City Council meeting during the two-week shutdown.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence Municipal and Probate court hearings have been suspended for the next two weeks amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The City Council also canceled its Tuesday meeting and won't reconvene until Jan 18, since members of the council tested positive for the virus.

City officials said all Probate Court sessions are suspended until Jan. 14. The next session will be at 2 p.m., Jan. 25.

Municipal Court hearings were suspended until January 14. This impacts the Thursday, Jan. 6, and Thursday, Jan. 13, Municipal Court hearings.
