DUI For East Providence Man After I-95 Crash: Police
Rhode Island State Police said Price Alexander was charged with driving under the influence after a crash on Memorial Day.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — An East Providence man was charged with driving intoxicated on Memorial Day Monday after police said he was involved in a crash on Interstate 95. Price Alexander, 22, was arrested at the crash scene in Providence at about 2 a.m., police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of liquor and/or drugs (first offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Alexander was one of nine drivers arrested by Rhode Island State Police on suspicion of driving under the influence over Memorial Day weekend.
"Troopers will continue to aggressively enforce all motor vehicle laws, especially those involving driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, excessive speed and distracted driving, to help ensure the safety of all motorists this summer," State Police Colonel Ann Assumpico said in a statement.

State Police said troopers issued 439 citations and investigated 52 crashes. There were no serious injuries or deaths.
