Fired St. Mary Academy - Bay View AD Stole More Than $50K From Prior Job: SA
The former athletic director submitted false invoices to Nova Southeastern University in Florida, according to the charges.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — The former director of athletics and strategic programs at St. Mary Academy - Bay View stole more than $50,000 from his last job, according to charges filed against him in Florida.
John Sung, 47, was arrested at the East Greenwich all-girls Catholic school Wednesday and fired the same day, a spokesman confirmed that day. He faces charges of communications fraud and second-degree grand theft in Broward County.

Between Oct. 1, 2023, and February of this year, Sung submitted fraudulent invoices to Nova Southeastern University, according to the charges filed against him in Broward County, Florida.
Sung was the interim director of athletics at the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, university prior to starting at St. Mary Academy - Bay View in August, the Rhode Island Catholic reported.

Sung's LinkedIn Page lists his employment at Nova Southeastern University lasted from April 2023 to May of this year.
