Five Things For Wednesday: Storm Debris Cleanup, Halloween Face Painting & More

East Providence Weather: 

  • Wednesday: A chance of showers, mainly before noon. Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 61. South wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Southwest wind around 8 mph.

Storm Debris: The Forbes Street Compost site in East Providence will be open Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 8:00AM to 4:00PM.  The East Providence Department of Public Works has announced that all yard debris created by Hurricane Sandy on October 29 can be dropped off at the Forbes Street Compost site on Saturday, November 3rd from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. East Providence Residents may drop off leaves, grass, branches, limbs and other tree related material /vegetative material only will be accepted at this site. 

Residents must show a valid driver's license as proof of residency. Yard Debris in plastic bags will not be accepted. NO commercial vehicles are permitted. Any material less than 2" in diameter can be placed in paper bags or reusable containers for regularly scheduled curb side collection.

Halloween Face Painting: Get ready for Halloween. Come by the Weaver Library, 41 Grove Avenue in East Providence from 3:00pm-5:00pm where kids are invited to have their faces painted in preparation for trick-or-treating. Miss Denise will use the library’s face-painting crayons, or parents can bring in their own face paints.
