Gabriela Dias, 80, St. Francis Xavier Communicant

Gabriela Dias, formerly of Oxford Street, East Providence, died Wednesday afternoon, July 17, 2013 at Waterview Villa. She was 80.

She was  the wife of the late Jose S. Dias Jr. Born Oct. 29, 1932, in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Santos and Georgiana Sousa.

She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church and worked for more than 30 years at Davol.

She leaves her children, Leo S. Dias of Pawtucket, Alan S. Dias of East Providence, Filomena Pimental of East Providence and Neli Silva of Toronto, Canada; 7 grandchildren, Karrie, Leo Jr., Jose Jr., Chris, Lesley, Alex and Adam; and her 2 great granddaughters, Lexi and Cianna.

She was also the sister of Jose Santos of East Providence, Eduarda Vieira of Toronto, and of the late Aldina Santos, Maria Augusta Pereira and Deodato Santos.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, July 22, at 9am in St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be private. Rebello Funeral Home on Broadway in East Providence is handling the arrangements.
