Grand Jury Indicts 21-Year Old: Child Molestation

An East Providence man was indicted for allegedly molesting a child 14 or younger, the AG's office said.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—The Providence Grand Jury has indicted a 21-year old on child molestation charges. According to Atty. Gen. Peter Kilmartin's office, Robert Meservey, of East Providence, faces a trial for sex crimes he allegedly committed in East Providence. The victim is described as a child 14 or younger.

Meservey is charged with one count of first degree child molestation and one count of second degree child molestation.

"It is alleged that on or about dates between September 1, 2015 and March 13, 2017, Meservey molested a person 14 years of age or under," Kilmartin's office said.

Meservey is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence Superior Court on Oct. 18.
