Local donations supported East Bay Community Action Program and other nonprofits, with several branches topping 400 gifts each, reflecting strong community generosity across Rhode Island.
   

• Pawtucket girls basketball holds off Bay View for 1st win of the year against a Division I team (woonsocketcall.com) — A tight girls basketball matchup in East Providence saw Pawtucket edge host Bay View, 48–47, for its first win of the season against a Division I opponent. Played at Bay View’s home gym, the game featured big late-game performances from Azilyn Medina, Zareia Colome, and Davina Gomes, with Medina’s clutch free throw in the final seconds ultimately preserving the one-point victory.
