Happy Father’s Day From Steven Federico

In celebration of Father's Day on Sunday June 17, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their father and let us deliver it. This is Steven Federico's letter to his dad:

My father was in our lives for a very short time, but to me he was the greatest. He built houses for a living in the 1970s, and when I was a little boy he would take me to the house he was building and let me play with real building blocks. Even after working hard all day he would play baseball with me and my brother, even if he was tired.

My father died when I was only 12 years old and I think of him often. We were very lucky to have a strong mom who raised all of us kids alone and provided everything we needed. She was the best. I can only wish that I can be as good of a father as my father was. He was truly a gem.
