Looking for a few things to do this weekend in and around East Providence?
To make sure you are ready for the hurricane season, Home Depot stores in this area are hosting “hurricane preparedness workshops” on Saturday, July 27, from 10 - 11:30 am.
The workshops are described this way: “The Home Depot experts will cover critical hurricane readiness topics, such as storm prep projects, generator safety, sizing generators for specific home or business needs and assembling disaster preparedness kits.”

Riding the historic Looff Carousel at Crescent Park in Riverside at the end of Bullocks Point Avenue is fun for children and adults of all ages. And you can end your stay with a stop by the nearby Blount Clam Shack.
The park is open from around noon to 8 pm each day.

Stop by the nearby Barrington farmers market at the Barrington Congregational Church on Saturday, July 27, from 9 am to noon.
There are always new vendors on hand with seasonal produce, breads, pastries and other home-grown goods. Among the usual vendors are New Urban Farmers in Pawtucket, Aquidneck Honey in Middletown, Providence Coffee Roasters in Providence, Nettie's Kettle Corn in North Providence, Oakdale Farm in Rehoboth, and Seven Stars Bakery in Providence and East Providence.
Weaver Memorial Library has many musem passes available to use over the weekend, including Battleship Cove, Southwick’s Zoo, Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester, Old Sturbridge Village and The Hall of Patriot Place. You can click here to reserve a pass online.
