Intoxicated Rhode Island Driver Hits Woman, Speeds Off: Police
Pawtucket police said Jared Delomba struck and seriously injured a 67-year-old woman.

PAWTUCKET, RI — A Pawtucket driver was arrested Friday after police said he was driving intoxicated and struck a pedestrian then fled the scene. Jared Delomba, 26, was charged with a host of crimes. The victim, a 67-year-old woman, suffered injuries to her face and leg and was expected to survive, police said. The crash happened at about 1:20 p.m. on Broad Street at Goff Avenue.
"The suspect vehicle fled the scene and was located shortly thereafter along with the operator in the parking lot of Centennial Towers on Goff (Avenue)," Pawtucket police said in a statement.
Deolmba was charged with driving under the influence of liquor/drugs, failure to stop during a crash, driving to endanger, refusal to submit to a chemical test, driving without proof of insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle.
