Joseph D. Correia Jr., 86, Retired Contractor
His calling hours are Friday evening and his funeral service is Saturday morning from Perry-McStay Funeral Home in East Providence.
Joseph D. Correia, Jr., of South Broadway, East Providence, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Waterview Villa. He wa 86.
He was the husband of Flora G. (Gonsalves) Correia to whom he was married 66 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph D., Sr. and Ezaura (Cardoza) Correia.
Correia was the owner & operator of Joseph D. Correia Construction Company for 50 years before retiring. He was a Marine veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Valerie A. Chaves of Bristol, one son, Joseph D. Correia III of East Providence, five grandchildren, Nicholas, Craig, Brittney, Joseph IV and Blake, four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Reagan, Aiden and Joseph and one brother, John Correia.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, July 27, at 9 am from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street, East Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
