Man Faces Another Domestic Assault Charge
East Providence police arrested and charged Marcus Jeffries last week for slamming a bathroom door into his girlfriend's face. The arrest and charge do not indicate a conviction.

An East Providence man, 52, was charged again by police last Thursday evening, July 11, with domestic simple assault.
Marcus S. Jeffries, 52, of 448 Waterman Ave., allegedly slammed a bathroom door into the face of his girlfriend, 48, during an argument that began earlier that night in the Cape Verdean Club in East Providence and continued until they got home.
Police officers found her sitting in a bra and panties in their apartment with blood smeared across her mouth, nose, hands and forearms.

Jeffries was stopped in a car near Warwick Avenue by a police officer after he drove away from the apartment before officers arrived. He did not cooperate with a police officer, according to the arrest report.
Jeffries was driving without a license in an unregistered vehicle, according to the police report. His vehicle was towed.

Jeffries faces charges of domestic simple assault, third offense, and simple assault and was given a summons for the motor vehicle violations. He also was wanted on a District Court bench warrant.
The police report said both Jeffries and his girlfriend are well-known by the police because of numerous calls made to the same address.
