Mariano M. Quintanilha, 85, Born in Azores

Mariano M. Quintanilha, of Anthony Street, East Providence, died surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. He was 85.
He was the husband of the late Maria do Carmo (de Almeida) Quintanilha. Born Nov. 22, 1927, in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Francisco Quintanilha and Maria Conceicao Ribeiro.
He is survived by his daughters, Connie Pacheco, Fatima Lima, Maria Ribeiro and Maria Correia, all of East Providence; his son, Ernesto Quintanilha of Norton, Mass.; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was the brother of Artur Quintanilha, Maria Estrela Brum, and Maria Santo Cristo Medeiros, all of East Providence, and Maria dosAnjos Ribeiro of the Azores. He was also the brother of the late Manuel and Abel Quintanilha, Maria Conceicao Valente, Amelia Pimentel and Teresa Sardinha.
His funeral will begin Friday at 9 am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-8pm.
